Business History

Kevin Jewelers, a family owned retail jewelry and manufacturing business was established in 1975 with the opening of the company's first store in Beverly Hills. This venture was the product of Kevin Jeweler's innovative concept of manufacturing its own merchandise to produce goods of superior quality and distinction.

After experiencing continued success at the Beverly Hills location for three years, Kevin Jewelers opened a second location in Santa Barbara, and then a third in Los Angeles two years later.

In 1984, Kevin Jewelers launched the business into more aggressive retail sales by relocating its operations to major malls situated in the greater Los Angeles area. The first of these locations to open was the store in Lakewood Center Mall. Kevin Jeweler's approach to merchandising, coupled with the traffic generated by our intense advertising, yielded remarkably strong sales during the first year of operation.

Motivated by the Lakewood store's success Kevin Jewelers has continued to expand its operations in major malls throughout Southern California. By acquiring key locations within the area's leading malls, Kevin Jewelers has been able to open an array of stores with locales in the Pacific View Mall (Ventura), the Lakewood Center Mall, Northridge Fashion Center, Antelope Valley Mall (Palmdale), Del Amo Fashion Center (Torrance), Santa Anita Fashion Park (Arcadia), Valencia Town Center, Westfield Shopping Center (Palm Desert), Westfield Shopping Center (West Covina), Montclair Plaza, Topanga Plaza (Canoga Park), Galleria at Tyler (Riverside), Valley Plaza Shopping Center (Bakersfield).

In 2000 Kevin Jewelers expanded beyond the California state lines into Tucson, Arizona. A new concept of merchandising and appearance was introduced to the Park Place Mall. This store was named Jewels By Jaqueline. In 2001 Kevin Jewelers Stores were also opened in Tucson, one in Park Place Mall and another in the Tucson Mall.

Market Strategy

Kevin Jewelers, through its wholly owned manufacturing facilities and diamond brokerage, can provide both exclusive custom designs and semi-custom designs in a fraction of the time it would take a jeweler using outside manufacturers, while keeping the retail price to a minimum. Kevin Jeweler's manufacturing crew consists of 21 professionals who produce and distribute merchandise daily to all its store locations.

Kevin Jewelers neo-classic store design presents an upscale image while creating an inviting atmosphere in which to shop. The dark green Italian Verde marble walls are complemented by the natural stained maple wood showcases. For this aesthetic look, Kevin Jewelers was awarded a $10,000.00 prize by Homart Development Co. for its outstanding store design! The look creates a warm traditional ambience making the store an impressive choice for customers purchasing important gifts such as those for birthdays, weddings and anniversaries.

Kevin Jewelers continues to be primarily family funded with no long term debt to hinder performance or increase operating costs. Our annual sales improvement and branding campaign have been attained by strong in-house financing power and effective advertising on broadcast television and top radio stations throughout Southern California and Tucson, Arizona.
